Safeguarding

The PRIDE Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We ensure that consistent and effective safeguarding procedures and policies are in place to support pupils and staff at school and follow the guidance of Keeping Children Safe in Education. If a pupil or parent has a concern they should contact the school immediately.

At The Pride Academy , the safety and wellbeing of every child is our highest priority. We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students and expect all staff, governors, volunteers and visitors to share this commitment. At our school we believe that children learn best when they feel safe, supported and valued.  Our school community provides a secure environment where students are encouraged to speak openly, develop confidence and know that they will be listened to. We take all concerns about the safety and wellbeing of our students seriously and act promptly and appropriately in line with our safeguarding procedures.

All staff receive regular safeguarding training and are vigilant in recognising and responding to any signs of harm, abuse or neglect. Our safeguarding policies and procedures follow statutory guidance and are regularly reviewed to ensure they remain effective and up to date. Our school team work closely with parents, carers and external agencies to ensure that every child receives the support and protection they need. By working together, we promote a culture where safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and where children feel safe, respected and able to thrive.

If anyone is worried that a pupil is being abused or there are safeguarding issues, the senior designated member of staff should be contacted. Alternatively you can contact the LADO (Local Authority Designated Officer) at the Local Authority.

As part of safeguarding the pupils of the The PRIDE Academy we will ensure that no political view is promoted. If political views are discussed as part of the school curriculum we will ensure this is a balanced discussion.
