Speech and Language Therapy

Speech and Language Therapy can help to identify and support the learning of students with a range of speech, language and communication needs.

Communication skills are important because they allow students to understand and interact with their peers, teachers, and parents across different environments. The Speech and Language Therapist works with learners in their classrooms, in small group settings, and in 1:1 sessions.

Sessions focuses on:

  • Identifying communication strengths and needs
  • Developing understanding of language
  • Developing use of spoken language
  • Developing pragmatic language
  • Developing social communication skills
  • Developing emotional literacy and regulation
