The PRIDE Academy receives Outstanding and Good Ofsted ratings
The PRIDE Academy has been graded Outstanding for Behaviour and attitudes, Personal development and Leadership and Management. In the other categories of quality of education areas and Sixth-form provision, it was given a Good judgement.
The glowing report recognised the school’s pupil-centred approach and staffs’ ambition to ensure every pupil can meet their goals:
‘There are no limits to what The PRIDE Academy believes its pupils can achieve, dream and accomplish. It is a place of positivity, inclusion and support, where pupils come first.’
Inspectors found that the learning is well adapted to meet pupils’ individual needs and different starting points:
‘The school is extremely ambition for pupils’ personal and academic success. The curriculum is broad in scope and highly tailored to meet pupils’ different needs.’
The report rated behaviour and attitudes as outstanding and highlighted the work the school does with range a specialists and therapists to understand each individual pupil:
‘The school’s work in managing behaviour, including supporting pupils to recognise and deal with their emotions is exemplary.’
Inspectors recognised the extensive provision for personal development in the report, which was also graded at the highest possible level:
‘The school ensures pupils are extremely well prepared for their next steps. Pupils are taught to be responsible, independent and resilient.’
Inspectors again found school leaders, including trustees and members of the local governing body, to be outstanding:
‘Their actions have had an incredibly positive impact on pupils’ experiences and outcomes.’
They found that the learning is well adapted to meet pupils’ individual needs and different starting points:

The report praised the school’s focus on reading:
‘The school has prioritised reading. For example, dedicated time each week allows pupils to practise reading together. This is having a positive impact on their fluency, comprehension and vocabulary acquisition.’
The report also highlighted the numerous opportunities that pupils have each day to develop their interests:
‘The school has also expanded the offer of vocational, functional and academic qualifications in key stage 4 and students in the sixth from. These qualifications prepare pupils and students well for their next steps a college or through apprenticeships.’
Inspectors said relationships in the school are strong:
‘Staff take time and care to get to know pupils and foster their self-confidence and self-esteem. Staff have high ambition for pupils’ achievement and success and support them to meet these expectations.’
